Trump portrayed the world under President Joe Biden as chaotic and unstable, blaming him for conflicts around the globe. He asserted that he would “end every international crisis the current administration has created” if elected to a second term. Specifically, Trump pledged to end the war in Ukraine by “stopping it with a phone call.” He also vowed to secure the release of Americans held abroad and establish an Iron Dome-like missile defense system for the United States. Trump’s speech was characterized by its assertive and confident tone, although his claims about resolving global crises without providing specific plans have been met with skepticism. His foreign policy proposals may clash with the Biden administration’s current approaches, setting the stage for potential geopolitical shifts if he were to be re-elected.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has promised to end raging international crises and restore America’s standing on the world stage, saying he can “stop wars with a phone call.”

The former president attempted to paint a bleak picture of the world under his successor Joe Biden, telling the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee that the planet is “teetering on the brink of World War III.”

“We will restore peace, stability and harmony throughout the world,” Trump said, without providing any details about how he might do that.

“Under our leadership, the United States will be respected again. No country will question our power, no enemy will question our power, our borders will be completely secure.”

Trump blamed Biden for conflicts around the world, even ones whose roots go back long before the Democrat came to power.

“There is an international crisis underway that the world has rarely been a part of… war is now raging in Europe, in the Middle East, a growing specter of conflict hangs over Taiwan, Korea, the Philippines and all of Asia,” he said.

He promised that all this would change if he were elected to a second term in the White House.

“I will end every international crisis the current administration has created, including the terrible war with Russia and Ukraine,” Trump said. But “to achieve that future, we must first save our nation from failed and even incompetent leadership.”

He also said he wanted Americans held abroad to be released, otherwise…

“To the whole world, I tell you this: We want our hostages back and they have to be back before I take office or you will pay a very high price,” Trump said again, without giving any details.

He promised to build a version of Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system for the United States, ignoring that the system is designed for short-range threats and would not be suitable for defending against intercontinental missiles, which pose the greatest threat to the country.
