I WANTED to take this opportunity to introduce people to the Barnsley FC charity arm and update them on developments.

Barnsley FC Community Trust is a registered charity committed to making a positive impact on our community.

As the Barnsley FC charity we work tirelessly to deliver charity and community events across all areas of the borough.

Our reach is extensive: each season we reach between 10,000 and 15,000 beneficiaries, ranging in age from two to over 100 years old.

At Barnsley FC Community Trust we believe in the power of sport and community to transform lives.

By focusing on core areas such as health and wellbeing, education and employability, inclusion and participation, we aim to make a tangible difference to the lives of individuals and the community as a whole.

In the last season alone we delivered over £7.75 million in social value, demonstrating our commitment to creating a stronger, healthier and more inclusive community. Our mission at Barnsley FC Community Trust is to use the power of Barnsley Football Club to inspire, improve and positively transform lives across our community.

Over the coming months we have some fantastic activities for people of all ages, including our ever-popular Kellogg’s Football Camps, holiday activity programmes, Fit Reds, our social isolation programme, match day activities and educational programmes.

In addition, we are expanding our services by successfully acquiring various subsidies.

These initiatives use the influence of sport and the Barnsley FC brand to raise awareness of cancer, promote early diagnosis and treatment, support families through a pre and postnatal programme aimed at improving health, wellbeing and physical activity, create opportunities for people with visual impairment to participate in football and physical activity, and provide mental health support in a safe environment.

Based in Oakwell, the home of Barnsley FC, we encourage residents and businesses to get in touch to find out how they can get involved, whether it’s by taking part in activities, supporting the charity, volunteering or joining our team.

People can do this via [email protected] or by calling 01226 211333.

Thanks for reading. Kieron Campbell, Head of Foundation.
