The hotel’s beer garden transformed into a lively petting zoo, featuring goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, rabbits, and guinea pigs. Close Encounters with Animals Children eagerly entered the enclosure to interact with their adorable companions, while parents enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the beer garden. Local mother Eliza Thrash praised the initiative, emphasizing the value of such events within the community. Positive Reception and Future Events The petting zoo was a resounding success, with positive feedback from parents and children alike. Innkeeper Scott Coman, a father of two, remarked on the exceptional feedback received. He expressed his commitment to organizing similar events during school holidays. Upcoming Reptile Show The momentum continues with a reptile show scheduled for Friday, July 19th, from 12:00 to 14:00 in the hotel’s beer garden. This educational and entertaining activity promotes awareness and conservation of nature. On Friday 12th July, the Royal Hotel Kew surprised local families with a petting zoo, thanks to a partnership with Macleay Valley Farm.

The event provided much-needed entertainment for children during the school holidays and attracted approximately 160 participants, including about 60 children.

The hotel’s popular beer garden is home to a lively petting zoo with all sorts of fun animals, such as goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, rabbits and guinea pigs.

Children of all ages had the chance to enter the enclosure and get up close and personal with their feathered and furry friends.

Parents and caregivers found the setup ideal as they could easily keep an eye on their children while enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of the beer garden.

Local mother Eliza Thrash expressed her appreciation, telling News Of The Area: “It’s a great initiative and we’re so glad we have something like this close to home, and that there are also entrepreneurs who are focused on the community.”

The event attracted not only families from the region, but also visitors from outside the region, for whom the event was a perfect outing for the whole family.

Innkeeper and local resident Scott Coman praised the day’s success.

“We had exceptional feedback from grandparents, parents and of course the children,” he said.

Mr Coman, a father of two young children, said he is always looking for fun activities during the school holidays.

In the run-up to the current holiday season, he thought it would be a great idea to organize free events in the hotel’s beautiful beer garden.

The positive reception of the petting zoo confirmed that his idea was a success.

Following the success of this event, Mr Coman confirmed that he has plans to continue organising school holiday events for the community.

Today (Friday 19th July) from 12:00 to 14:00 there will be a reptile show in the beer garden of the hotel. This is another fun activity for families who want to promote awareness and conservation of nature through education about nature.

The Royal Hotel Kew’s commitment to family-friendly entertainment is clearly resonating with the community and locals are looking forward to future events with great anticipation.
