Sage Hill Investors (SHI) and Chattanooga Football Club (CFC) today celebrated the groundbreaking for 1620 Riverfront Parkway, CFC’s future 66,000-square-foot headquarters, including retail, offices, apartments, restaurant space and a rooftop bar.

The development currently goes by the name “Project Starball”, a nod to the central design element of CFC’s logo since 2009.

“Launching a development like this in our own backyard is a natural fit for the growth of Chattanooga Football Club and a very strategic investment that we can all feel good about,” said CFC owner and Sage Hill Investors President Davis Grizzard. “It’s for the Chattanooga team, for our city and for this neighborhood.”

CFC CEO Alton Byrd said, “This event and this project bodes very brightly for Chattanooga Football Club and the direction we are taking with our first teams, our academy, our staff and our partners.”

The project was first announced in May and quickly gained traction after a year of planning. It follows CFC’s entry into the Major League Soccer enterprise in November, when it became an independent club of MLS NEXT Pro.

“As we continue to tirelessly build our league, CFC is part of our foundation,” said Charles Altchek, President of MLS NEXT Pro.

Also in attendance was Chattanooga Mayor and CFC co-founder Tim Kelly, who explained the importance of the development for the future of the city and the club.

Located within walking distance of CFC’s home field, Finley Stadium, Project Starball includes office space for club staff and coaches, player apartments, a training facility, retail space, a restaurant and a rooftop bar.

The main partners of the project are FTC Development, River Street Architecture and Modus Build. The development is expected to be completed in January 2026.
