Despite reported interest from several teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, it was the Milwaukee Bucks who emerged as the winner of the Gary Trent Jr. free-agency sweepstakes.
This was a huge acquisition for the Bucks, who had very little cap space available going into free agency. The fact that they were able to lure Trent to Milwaukee despite interest from other teams is nothing short of a huge win for the team.

Trent reportedly agreed to sign a one-year deal with the Bucks based on a veteran’s minimum contract. Apparently, Trent had the option to sign a mid-level deal with other teams, which would have allowed him to earn much more than the estimated $2.6 million he will command in Milwaukee this upcoming season.
This major coup prompted quite a few enthusiastic reactions from Bucks fans on X, formerly Twitter.

Trent comes to Milwaukee after spending the past four seasons with the Toronto Raptors, during which time he averaged 16.4 points, 2.7 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals while also knocking down 2.7 triples per game at a 38.0 percent clip.
It looks like the Bucks got a bargain here.
