His second goal came shortly after, as teammate Denilho Cleonise surged into the penalty area before squaring the ball for Zawada to finish. Despite Zawada’s efforts, Leuven fought back in the second half to claim a 4-2 victory. Zawada has signed a two-year deal with Waalwijk after his contract with Wellington Phoenix expired at the end of the 2023-24 A-League season. Zawada made his first appearance in the starting line-up and scored twice in the first half to give his team a 2-0 lead against Belgian club OH Leuven in a friendly.
Zawada scored his first goal with a fine header in the 10th minute and his second goal came from a move by teammate Denilho Cleonise, who dribbled into the penalty area.
RKC Wallwijk lost 4-2 in the second half.
Zawada (28) has signed a two-year contract with the Dutch club, after his contract with A-League club Wellington Phoenix expired.
Zawada, who scored 22 goals in 42 games for Phoenix, was out of contract at the end of the 2023-24 Isuzu UTE A-League season.
