Prince William and Princess Catherine’s big shake-up to their trust has sparked speculation about the Princess of Wales’ health as she battles cancer. It comes as the Prince and Princess of Wales have appointed the former boss of supermarket giant Tesco as a director of their trust. News Corp columnist Angela Mollard has joined Sky News presenter Caroline Di Russo to discuss the royal couple’s big shake-up to their trust and what it suggests about Princess Catherine’s health. “What this appointment suggests is that she is returning to work behind the scenes or at least that she was sufficiently able to make some decisions about this trust,” Ms Mollard said. “She would have been consulted about it and that means she may be getting better and preparing to return to work,” she said.

The 42-year-old Princess of Wales, who has been patron of the All-England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club since 2016, wore a bright purple dress as she entered the Royal Box to watch the men’s singles final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic.

Kate walked onto Centre Court with her daughter Princess Charlotte, nine, and her sister Pippa Middleton, 40, to a standing ovation from the enthusiastic crowd.

The crowd cheered, shouted and waved the Union Jack flag as Kate took her place, smiling.

She later presented the trophy to the victorious Alcaraz, who defeated Djokovic in three sets: 6-2 6-2 7-6(4).

The Princess then went to X to congratulate Alcaraz on his “remarkable victory” and thanked the Wimbledon staff for their dedication to the spectacle.

“Great to be back at @Wimbledon! There’s nothing like The Championships,” she said.

She also posted a behind-the-scenes video and a number of photos from the super-lavish event, including one of Charlotte being presented with her very own tennis racket.

Kensington Palace confirmed that Kate was in attendance on Saturday, although she did not appear at the women’s singles final that day.

The princess was there on Sunday without her husband, Prince William, who had travelled to watch England’s match against Spain in the Euro 2024 championship.

In preparation for her first public appearance of the year at Trooping the Colour in June, Kate said in a statement that she hopes to “take part in a few public appearances over the summer”, but added: “I haven’t decided yet”.

“I’m learning to be patient, especially when it comes to uncertainty,” she said.

“Taking each day as it comes, listening to my body and giving myself time to heal.”

Kate revealed in an Instagram video in March that she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy treatment after being diagnosed with cancer during “major abdominal surgery.”
