“He’s a versatile wide receiver prospect who put up big numbers as a junior against five-star Cam Coleman,” 247Sports scouting director Andrew Ivins said of Upshaw prior to his announcement. “He can run deep and get the long ball. What also stands out about his game is how he can capitalize on his catch-and-run opportunities, as he has above-average vision and avoids tackles on jump cuts. On the young side for the class, having just turned 17 and seen him at various camps and tournaments, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him undergo a major physical transformation over the next few years. Overall, a solid addition for Miami given what they want to do on offense. He’s the type of wideout who offers some versatility and can line up on the inside or outside.”
