Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (WAH) stated that this measure is essential to protect patients, their families, and hospital staff from the virus. The hospital currently has 65 patients with COVID-19, the highest number since December 2023. WAH emphasized that masks are vital in preventing the spread of respiratory droplets and reducing the transmission of COVID-19. The measures are being implemented immediately and will remain in place until further notice. Masks are available at all hospital locations.

Face mask wearing rules have been reintroduced in acute hospitals in Worcestershire after a rise in the number of patients developing Covid-19.

The policy applies to staff, patients and visitors and covers all clinical departments at Alexandra, Kidderminster and Worcestershire Royal hospitals in Redditch.

Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (WAH) said in a statement that the measure was necessary to protect patients, their loved ones and hospital staff.

The hospital said it is currently treating 65 patients with Covid-19, the highest number since December 2023.

The trust said the measures are being implemented immediately and will remain in place until further notice.

Masks are available at all locations.
