Will Southgate remain England manager?
The Football Association (FA) will try to convince Gareth Southgate to remain as England manager after Euro 2024, even if he does not take home the trophy.
England secured a place in the European Championship final on Wednesday with a 2-1 win over the Netherlands.
According to The Times, the English Football Association wants to keep him at all costs, regardless of the outcome in Sunday’s final against Spain.
Southgate, who has been linked with the Manchester United job, has a contract with England until December but FA chief executive Mark Bullingham plans to talk to him again at the end of Euro 2024.
A new deal would take him to the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, marking his 10th year in the role.
It has previously been suggested that Southgate could step down after this summer’s tournament.
