Starting Friday, these meals will include an extra scoop of Adirondack Creamery ice cream. “This is a great program that provides fresh, nutritious meals to kids in the neighborhoods where they live,” said Paul Nasrani, founder of Adirondack Creamery, explaining that the ice cream addition helps capture their audience’s attention. “They’re not going to school and they’re not getting school meals, so this is a great program that provides fresh, nutritious meals to kids in the neighborhoods where they live, where they don’t have regular access to those meals.” The program distributes around 300 meals daily, with each meal including a scoop of ice cream. Adirondack Creamery uses ingredients from upstate New York farms to produce their ice cream.

Throughout the summer, local families can get free summer meals at dozens of locations thanks to Foodlink. Starting Friday, that includes an extra scoop of Adirondack Creamery ice cream.

Adirondack Creamery uses food from farms in upstate New York to make its ice cream. They need a lot of those ingredients, since the program provides about 300 meals a day, each with a scoop of ice cream.
