The first bell of the new school year will ring on August 8 for grades 1 through 12. Kindergarteners will join their classmates on August 15, followed by pre-K students on August 22. Teachers will return to their classrooms on August 6 to prepare for the upcoming academic year. Last year’s legislative session brought a significant development in Louisiana schools: the passage of a law requiring the Ten Commandments to be displayed in public schools. Caddo and Bossier Parish Schools have been working to implement the new law while adhering to their own policies and constitutional obligations. The 2024-2025 school year starts on August 8 with grades 1 through 12. Kindergarten starts on August 15 and pre-K on August 22.

The teachers report to school on Tuesday, August 6 to prepare for the coming school year.
