Formula 1 returns to the home of British motorsport this weekend as Silverstone hosts the British Grand Prix.
George Russell was a surprise winner last time out in Austria when the Mercedes driver took advantage of a late-race collision between Max Verstappen and Lando Norris. Norris was furious with Verstappen afterwards, setting up their rivalry nicely for Norris’ home race this weekend.
Verstappen leads the world championship with an 81-point lead over Norris before the British GP, a race he won last year. Russell, despite his victory, is still seventh.
Lewis Hamilton is an eight-time winner at Silverstone and has finished on the podium for the past two years. The seven-time F1 world champion has not won since December 2021 and would love nothing more than to return to the top of the podium in front of a crowd that adores him.

George Russell fastest in FP3!
Lando Norris may not have had three top training sessions, but he does have another Brit at the top!
George Russell was fastest in the rain at Silverstone – his time of 1:37:529 was 0.035 seconds faster than Lewis Hamilton in second place.
Norris eventually finished third, 0.185 seconds behind, and was then a huge deficit to Carlos Sainz in fourth, who was six-tenths of a second behind him.
Max Verstappen? Only P5 for the Red Bull driver, 0.864 seconds behind Russell – that’s quite a gap!
6-10: Leclerc, Piastri, Alonso, Perez, Hulkenberg
That’s a good starting point for qualifying later!

It’s a Mercedes one-two on the intermediate tyre!
Russell was fastest with a time of 1:37:529, half a second faster than Hamilton in second place. Charles Leclerc is third, almost a second slower than Russell!
