Looking for the best 4th of July fireworks shows in New York? Look no further — we’ve compiled a list of some of the most extravagant, colorful pyrotechnics shows happening in the state.

Here’s what you need to know about where to go if you want to be amazed by nature this Fourth of July. Think Western New York, the Finger Lakes, and the Hudson Valley.

Wednesday July 3rd

Fireworks on the River in Brewerton

Visitors can enjoy a community party and kid’s zone at Riverfront Park, a boat parade on the river, and food trucks at Bear Creek Restaurant prior to the evening’s fireworks display. Visitors beware: The area will be packed with cars and people prior to the fireworks display. Plan to find a parking spot ahead of time!

Thursday July 4th

Irondequoit’s 4th of July Festival

The all-day event in the city includes a 10K and 2K run, a craft fair, a watermelon eating contest, live music and a parade at 11 a.m.

Fireworks Spectacular on July 4th at Walkway Over the Hudson

You can watch the fireworks for free from Waryas Park at the foot of Main Street, or purchase a $25 ticket for an unobstructed view of the fireworks on the walkway itself by visiting walkway.org . The entire event runs from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Jones Beach Fireworks Spectacle

This year’s 25-minute show is inspired by Barbie, Beyoncé and Taylor Swift and is free with the park’s $10 admission price.

Fireworks in Hudson Valley: Fireworks, parades before or around July 4th in Westchester, Rockland, Putnam

4th of July Celebration in Lyndonville

This Orleans County festival is one of the largest Fourth of July events in Western New York, according to its sponsor, the Lyndonville Lions Club. Events run throughout the day — a craft show, a parade at noon, a chicken barbecue and live music — until the fireworks at 10 p.m.

Union City Extravaganza on July 4th

The festive gathering in Highland Park in the city of Union wouldn’t be complete without the annual chicken barbecue, local entertainment and an explosive fireworks display.

4th of July Celebration in Lake Placid

Be sure to attend the Lake Placid Horse Show, Parade, live music and fireworks at Mirror Lake in the Adirondacks region on July 4th.

Fourth of July Celebration in New York State

The event in the state capital, which claims to have “the best fireworks in the region,” includes live music from Bruce Hornsby and The Noisemakers, a flyover by 109AW New York Air Guard, pony rides and a bounce house.

Fireworks on July 4th in Watkins Glen

Enjoy live music and concessions before the fireworks in Clute Park overlooking Seneca Lake. The beach, spray pad, basketball courts, playground and skate park are open all day and into the night.

Saturday July 6th

Canandaigua Independence Day Celebration

Earlier in the day, enjoy a parade down Main Street, from City Hall to Booth Street. Once night falls, fireworks are set off from Kershaw Park on the north shore of Canandaigua Lake.
