This fall, Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware brought together two engineering and innovation powerhouses with a long track record of creating innovations that have revolutionized physical and software-defined data centers. Together, they create an infrastructure leader uniquely qualified to guide enterprises through every facet of their private, hybrid and multi-cloud journeys.

The Broadcom Expert Advantage Partner Program reflects this resulting commitment to simplifying what it takes to create an optimal VMware Cloud Foundation cloud environment at scale, whether an organization is just starting its cloud journey or perfecting an advanced cloud environment.

We recently caught up with Guy Bartram, Director of Product Marketing, Cloud Provider at Broadcom, responsible for VMware by Broadcom technologies. He wanted to learn more about what the new Cloud Service Provider Advantage program means for customers, and specifically, the unique value that Broadcom Pinnacle Partners bring to enterprises’ cloud efforts. This includes the need for enterprise-grade private clouds for private learning AI applications, and the growing need for hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructure that connects use cases and workloads to the right cloud.

“VMware revolutionized the foundation of the cloud with virtualization, and today more than 500,000 enterprises rely on VMware by Broadcom technologies as the critical foundation upon which their mission-critical operations run,” Bartram said. “But with an ever-expanding portfolio of 90 cloud solutions, our stack has become increasingly complex. Our new Broadcom Advantage Partner Program and the VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), now our core cloud offering, reflect our efforts to simplify our solution set and provide partners and their customers with a single package that delivers unprecedented capabilities.”

The Broadcom Advantage Partner Program includes more than 2,500 highly valued Registered Partners, approximately 2,000 Registered Partners, 400 Premier Partners and 100 Pinnacle Partners. These are the organizations that have the closest working and engineering relationships with Broadcom and have extensive experience and expertise in delivering VMware by Broadcom technologies and the myriad of managed services and solutions needed to create the high-performance infrastructure that the world’s most successful organizations rely on.

“Broadcom has an industry-leading track record of simplifying data center operations and initiatives at scale,” Bartram added. “What’s so striking about this program, and VCF as a core offering, is that it provides access to everything an organization needs to create an optimal private, hybrid and multi-cloud infrastructure and the ability to easily know the costs involved.”

VMware Cloud Foundation – The Cloud Stack

VCF gives enterprises everything they need to excel in the cloud. It includes flagship VMware by Broadcom technologies such as vSphere, vSAN, NSX, Tanzu, and Aria, to name a few. It also includes the extensive capabilities needed to perfect even the most advanced cloud efforts, combining capabilities previously found across the full VMware cloud portfolio.

“Businesses of all types have realized that a hybrid, multi-cloud solution is the way to optimize their cloud journey,” says Bartram. “They also universally see the need for a high-performance private cloud to ensure their mission-critical data and operations are supported with a software-defined infrastructure that meets the most stringent requirements for resiliency, compliance and performance. VCF meets all of these needs.”

Bartram notes that VCF makes it easy to automate everything from networking and storage to security. As a result, even the most advanced and powerful cloud environments are radically easier to manage and optimize.

“Many organizations have moved to the cloud, but they still have to manage countless tasks,” he says. “Deploying and operating physical firewalls, physical load balancing, and many other tasks that span the on-premises environment and the virtual domain all require multiple teams and quickly become difficult and expensive. The automation that VCF enables makes it possible to minimize or eliminate such tasks while giving organizations access to solutions and capabilities that many of them historically could not afford or did not have the operational capacity to consider.”

Notably, all VCF licenses are fully portable, allowing enterprises to deploy VCF to any private or hybrid, multi-cloud VMware cloud endpoint over time. In this way, VCF provides maximum flexibility, allowing customers to embrace new technical capabilities over time while maintaining agility in their cloud strategy.

Broadcom Pinnacle Partners – Cloud Leaders

Broadcom Pinnacle Partners are cloud solutions and managed service providers that have the most extensive and deepest working relationships with VMware, both at the business and technical levels. With extensive certifications and numerous customer deployments, they have historically had extensive experience working across the entire VMware stack.

They also all offer the deep vertical market expertise and offerings that organizations need to thrive in their industries, as well as the managed services – including Infrastructure-as-a-Service, Backup-as-a-Service, Disaster Recovery-as-a-Service, Security-as-a-Service and more – that enterprises often require. They also offer a host of professional services, from cloud migration assistance and cloud design to application development to the creation of highly customized, custom systems designed to address the most unique use cases.

Broadcom Pinnacle Partners are also highly skilled at providing highly specific guidance and serving as a trusted partner for enterprises who can outsource their entire infrastructure with the peace of mind that it will address the most demanding requirements. These include the need for everything from a full a sovereign cloud for access to the super-fast networks that enable low latency across all regions and include onramps to the major hyperscalers.

“All of our Broadcom Advantage Partners are highly regarded and provide access to exceptional cloud expertise and experience, but our 100 Pinnacle Partners offer the broadest range of skills and resources, specializations and capabilities that enterprises need,” Bartram added. “They enable customers to easily access infrastructure and capabilities that most, even the largest enterprises, could not create on their own.”

Bartram notes that even in the most advanced enterprises, operational teams are increasingly struggling to not just create but also manage, whether it’s meeting compliance requirements across geographies or classifying the vast amounts of data that need to be classified, controlled or managed into private learning models for AI. Broadcom Pinnacle Partners have these capabilities and more.

“Our Broadcom Pinnacle Partners are the organizations uniquely qualified to help organizations achieve their optimal cloud future, a future that is achievable when they partner with a provider that frees them from the need to build cloud infrastructure that has already been perfected because they have already borne the heavy burdens that come with everything from ISO certifications to the significant investments required to build high-speed networks. These are the cloud service providers that free organizations to focus on innovating their businesses and driving competition, not just creating the networks that those innovations require.”

Bartram notes that the need for such partners will only increase.

“As AI adoption increases, the need for private cloud environments and the complexity of the applications that rely on them and the management of the data within them will only increase,” he said. “The data flood that originally drove enterprises to embrace the cloud, and that VMware enabled with virtualization, is a lot like the data flood we’ll see in the coming years with AI applications and machine-generated data. This time, we’re solving it with VCF and access to Broadcom Pinnacle Partners who can help enterprises get where they need to be.”
