A Garda Family Liaison Officer (FLO) has been assigned to support the grieving families. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward. The teenager was taken to Waterford University Hospital with serious injuries after the horror crash and gardai have confirmed he lost his fight for life this afternoon.
The boy is the second teenager to die as a result of the collision. Another teenager died at the scene of the crash on the R680 Cork Road in Waterford city. Both boys traveled on the same e-scooter.
