No Barbed Wire or Inmate Treatment Savoie stated that the rumors of barbed wire being installed at the hospital or of inmates receiving treatment there are “ridiculous.” The appearance of Lake Shore will remain unchanged. Claims Circulating These claims have been circulating within the community, but Savoie has dismissed them as baseless. Meridian does not have a contract with the Department of Corrections (DOC) and has no plans to provide treatment to inmates at Lake Shore. Current Status The hospital will continue to operate as a general medical facility, providing care to the local community. There are no plans for any major changes or the introduction of inmate treatment.
