Oil spill slows traffic on Highway 11 near Warman

Oil Spill on Highway 11Oil Spill on Highway 11 Warman Fire Rescue (WFR) and Warman RCMP responded to a report of an oil spill on Highway 11 at the CN Railway overpass near Warman on Wednesday, June 26th, shortly before 5:00 p.m. Initial reports suggest that a semi-truck lost its gear while traveling on the highway, damaging the oil pans of one or more vehicles following behind. The resulting oil spill covered part of the northbound lanes of the highway at the overpass. Traffic restrictions were implemented in the northbound lanes while WFR members worked to clean up the spill. The scene was cleared around 5:15 p.m., and both lanes were reopened.

Warman Fire Rescue (WFR) and Warman RCMP responded to a report of an oil spill on Highway 11 at the CN Railway overpass near Warman shortly before 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26. Initial reports indicate that a semi-truck may have lost its gear while traveling on the highway, and one or more vehicles following behind the semi-truck sustained damage to their oil pans as a result of impact with the gear box. The resulting oil spill covered a portion of the northbound lanes of the highway at the overpass. Traffic was restricted in the northbound lanes of Highway 11 while WFR members worked to clean up the spill. WFR members cleared the scene at approximately 5:15 p.m. and both lanes of the highway were reopened at that time.
