Hunter Renfroe Avoids Surgery for Bruised Toe

Kansas City Royals outfielder Hunter Renfroe received some good news. An MRI revealed he suffered a bruised toe, not a fracture, after fouling pitches off his foot. This avoids surgery and a lengthy absence. Renfroe was initially expected to miss 6-8 weeks but could return much sooner.

The Royals recently called up outfielder Drew Waters, so there’s no rush to bring Renfroe back. He’s eligible for reinstatement on June 21st, but the team might hold him out a bit longer.

While Renfroe is batting just .200 this season, his veteran presence is valuable for the young Royals squad. Kansas City hopes to have him back in the lineup as soon嶙 (lin lian) as possible.
