Soludo Emphasizes Healthy Living as ASMATA Inaugurates Nnewi Market SSG

Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State and his deputy, Dr. Onyeka Ibezim, joined members of the Anambra State Market Traders Association (ASMATA) to inaugurate the new Nnewi Market Sanitation Standard Group (SSG). The SSG is a community-led initiative aimed at promoting healthy and sustainable market practices in Nnewi. During the inauguration ceremony, Soludo stressed the importance of maintaining a clean and hygienic environment in all markets across the state. “A healthy environment is essential for promoting the health and well-being of our people,” Soludo said. “We must prioritize sanitation and ensure that our markets are safe and conducive for both traders and customers.” ASMATA President, Chief Nonye Ogolo, commended the governor for his commitment to improving market conditions in Anambra State. She stated that the SSG would play a vital role in addressing issues such as waste disposal, proper food handling, and personal hygiene. The SSG will be responsible for monitoring sanitation practices, resolving environmental issues, and educating traders and customers on the importance of maintaining a clean market. Governor Soludo expressed optimism that the group would make a significant contribution to the public health and economic well-being of Nnewi. “We believe that by working together, we can create a market environment that is both vibrant and healthy,” Soludo said.
