Kusha Kapila’s Perspective on Her Humanized Character in ‘Life Hill Gayi’Kusha Kapila’s Perspective on Her Humanized Character in ‘Life Hill Gayi’ Content creator and actress Kusha Kapila has expressed her admiration for the humanization of her character Kalki in the series ‘Life Hill Gayi’. Despite portraying a privileged South Delhi girl on social media, Kusha emphasizes the show’s efforts to add emotional and comedic depth to the character. According to Kusha, the original inspiration for the role may have come from her content, but it was the collaboration with directors and writers that allowed for the character’s humanization. “While the original idea may have been inspired by what I’ve done, the emotional and comedic depth came from…the fact that…these characters…needed to be humanized,” she said. “You cannot be as cartoonish as you are in the reels” when portraying a character on screen, Kusha explains. The show’s creators effectively balanced the character’s caricature-like qualities with a legitimate redemption arc, leading to a more realistic and relatable portrayal. ‘Life Hill Gayi’ is directed by Prem Mistry and written by Jasmeet Singh Bhatia, and stars a talented cast including Divyenndu, Vinay Pathak, and Kabir Bedi. It will be available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from August 9th. Kusha’s journey in the entertainment industry began in 2014 and gained momentum in 2020 with her appearance in the anthology ‘Ghost Stories’. She has since featured in films such as ‘Plan A Plan B’, ‘Sukhee’, and ‘Thank You For Coming’.

Mumbai, July 30 Content creator and actress Kusha Kapila said what she likes most about ‘Life Hill Gayi’ is the way her character Kalki has been ‘humanised’.

Kusha said, “I have been creating content since 2017 and in 2019, I went solo as a content creator. I have portrayed this character of a South Delhi girl who is blinded by privilege and luxury, so in a way I understand why I was chosen for the role.”

The actress continued: “What I really love about the show is how it humanizes the character.”

The social media sensation explained that the character should not be as “caricature-like” as is possible on reels.

“I don’t think we were able to humanise them in the short sketches, but when you are portraying someone on screen, you cannot be as cartoonish as you are in the reels,” Kusha added.

“While the original idea may have been inspired by what I’ve done, the emotional and comedic depth came from the fact that the directors and the writers also wanted to humanize these characters while creating a legitimate redemption arc,” she said.

Directed by Prem Mistry and written by Jasmeet Singh Bhatia, the series also stars Divyenndu, Vinay Pathak, Mukti Mohan, Kabir Bedi, Bhagyashree and Aditi Govitrikar.

‘Life Hill Gayi’ will be available to stream on Disney+ Hotstar from August 9.

Kusha, who entered the television world in 2014, got her big break in 2020 when she appeared in the anthology ‘Ghost Stories’.
