Mehrotra’s departure was announced in a statement by EVH Internation, the parent company of the restaurants. He expressed his gratitude for the opportunities and support he received during his tenure and revealed plans to explore new frontiers. Under Mehrotra’s culinary leadership, Indian Accent garnered accolades such as being voted #1 on NDTV’s list of ‘Best Restaurants for 2024’ and featuring in ‘Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants for 2024.’ Its innovative Indian cuisine, including signature dishes like Wasabi Raita, Blue Cheese Naan, and Daulat ki Chaat, became renowned both in India and internationally. While Chef Mehrotra departs, the legacy of Indian Accent and Comorin will continue in the hands of Executive Chef Shantanu Mehrotra in New Delhi and Head Chef Rijul Gulati in Mumbai. Mehrotra hinted at a future return with something new and exciting, promising to keep his followers informed of his culinary adventures.

The sheer ingenuity of combining the tang of wasabi with the subtlety of raita; the audacity of adding blue cheese to naan; and the creativity of serving Daulat ki Chaat – a winter speciality – all year round at Indian Accent can only be attributed to its Culinary Director – Chef Manish Mehrotra. After creating a phenomenal legacy in the Indian hospitality industry (15 years at Indian Accent and 9 years at Comorin), Chef Manish Mehrotra announced his departure from Indian Accent and Comorin to explore new frontiers.
