TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – An armed robbery suspect was arrested in Florida on Monday, but not before attempting to jump from balcony to avoid being captured by officers, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.
According to agents, Jorge Garcia-Palacio has been involved in several armed robberies in the Tampa Bay area in recent weeks.
Garcia-Palacio was seen at the Godfrey Hotel on Rocky Point. When investigators knocked on his door, he opened it and then immediately locked it again after seeing the officers, the sheriff’s office said.
He began jumping from balcony to balcony, from the sixth floor to the second, to avoid arrest, officers said.
Garcia-Palacio was eventually arrested and faces multiple charges.
