A family of five found themselves confronted by a masked man brandishing a gun. Jisun Park, a 40-year-old man from Texas, allegedly entered the home through the garage, his intentions sinister. The intruder pointed his weapon at the victims, announcing a robbery. However, the family refused to succumb to his demands. Determined to thwart the assailant, they raised their voices and pursued him as he attempted to flee. Park escaped into a nearby wooded area, but the family’s actions had thrown a wrench into his plans. Multiple law enforcement agencies swiftly responded to the scene, launching a search for the suspect. A thorough combing of the woods ultimately yielded results when officers apprehended Park. Upon his arrest, authorities discovered a BB gun resembling a real firearm, as well as a mask, gloves, and other suspicious items. Park was charged with armed robbery, armed burglary, aggravated assault, and weapons possession. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail to await his initial court appearance. The family’s courageous resistance prevented what could have been a far more tragic outcome. Their determination and unity served as a reminder of the indomitable spirit that can prevail in the face of adversity.

A Texas man was arrested over the weekend after he allegedly held a family of five at gunpoint in their Bergen County home, authorities said.

Jisun Park, 40, of Carrollton, Texas, is charged with armed robbery, armed burglary, aggravated assault and weapons possession, according to a news release from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

Norwood police responded to a 911 call of a home invasion at a home on Impatiens Way in the neighborhood at 12:20 a.m. Saturday. Officers on the scene found two adults and their three children confronted by an armed, masked man who entered through the garage, the news release said.

The intruder, later identified as Park, pointed his gun at the victims and announced that a robbery was taking place. He then “threatened to shoot the family if they didn’t close the garage door to cover up the robbery,” according to an affidavit of probable cause obtained by NorthJersey.com.

Park was taken to the Bergen County Jail pending his initial court appearance, scheduled for Monday afternoon.
