A Hindu journalist named Amrapali Sharma has shared several videos on social media in which she claims that she is being harassed and threatened by Muslim communities living in her neighbourhood in Malad, Maharashtra. In her video statement, she stated that she is being targeted for her Hindu religious identity and that she is facing existential threat and threats to her life from local Muslims.
According to her, the community people living in the ‘Muslim dominated area’ have been harassing, threatening and inciting Hindus to commit suicide or sell their businesses and houses. She alleged that they have forced Hindus to leave this area.

She added that they are harassing Hindus in some way and that she is being harassed for feeding animals. However, she noted that this is not about feeding animals but about attacking a Hindu woman. She alleged that the mob also threw meat at her doorstep and no one checked whether it was beef or other animal meat. To X, she has also accused Mohommad Khan and Aysha Turki of making social comments about Hindus.

In one of the videos she shared through her X handle, a man was seen arguing with her over feeding stray animals on the street.
In one of her posts, she advised against buying houses in Muslim-dominated areas like Malvani, Malad and Mumbra as they are ‘unsafe’ for women.

Muslims claim discrimination, but also discriminate against Hindus in ‘their area’: Amrapali Sharma claims discrimination on religious grounds
In one of the videos, the journalist asked, “Is it a wrong for a Hindu woman to have a house in a Muslim-dominated area? I am secular, but as a Hindu I have to fight for my existence, I am their target and a victim here. Where do I go? People say you have done something wrong by having a house in a Muslim-dominated area. This is our country. If anything happens to them or anyone in their community, they start overreacting and waving a minority card. The entire country supports them.”
She added: “Is it a crime to be a Hindu? Or an animal lover? On Bakrid day, they hung goats everywhere in the society and there was blood everywhere. When I told the police about this, they assured that they would hold talks. No one is taking any action against them.”
She is a highly respected journalist living in Mumbai (Ms. Amprapali Sharma), and now she is being harassed by her neighbours from the ‘other’ community.

“It seems that as Hindus, we cannot live in a remote corner of the country. They say that no one gives us a house or an apartment and that the minority is facing discrimination. But despite Hindus being the majority, I am facing discrimination. I have pepper spray with me because these people are threatening to kill me,” says female Hindu journalist Amrapali Sharma in the video.
Amrapali Sharma further noted that this is not a matter of feeding animals, but it is only a matter of targeting a Hindu woman. They are targeting many people on one pretext or the other. They are threatening to kill them so that they leave and sell their businesses and houses in this area. Their intention is to force them to commit suicide. Last year, I thought of committing suicide and I urged for help from the police and others, but in vain. People say that you will not get any help anywhere because this is their area, she said.
She concluded by saying, “If anything happens to me in the future, the community that lives in this neighborhood and targeted me will be responsible.”
