This move is part of Fairfax Meadow’s commitment to sustainability and reducing its carbon footprint. The custom-built Ford e-Transit refrigerated trucks, equipped with advanced refrigeration systems, can handle both chilled and frozen meat products. Designed in collaboration with Fairfax Meadow’s marketing team, the vehicles feature distinctive branding that aligns with the company’s image. ProGreen has installed Geotab telematics on the vehicles, allowing Fairfax Meadow to monitor driver behavior and track carbon savings. These systems also enable remote fault diagnosis, tracking, and accident detection for optimal performance. Penny Tomlinson, Managing Director of Fairfax Meadow, expressed her satisfaction with ProGreen’s support in their transition to electric vehicles. She emphasized the environmental, cost management, and customer-centric benefits of the new fleet. Michelle Miles, Head of ProGreen, highlighted the collaborative effort between the two companies to ensure the vehicles met Fairfax Meadow’s requirements. ProGreen is committed to supporting businesses in their sustainability strategies through the provision of electric vehicles. To complement the transition, ProGreen managed the installation of electric vehicle charging infrastructure at Fairfax Meadow’s depot. The company’s nationwide services include commercial vehicle hire, fleet management, and damage repair management. This initiative marks Fairfax Meadow’s 50th anniversary and demonstrates the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in its meat delivery operations. ProGreen’s support has enabled Fairfax Meadow to reduce its environmental impact while maintaining the quality of its products.

Fairfax Meadow, Catering Butcher of the Year 2023, has taken delivery of its first electric vehicles from ProGreen, the sustainable vehicle rental and alternative fuels division of Prohire, the leading provider of commercial vehicle rental and fleet management solutions.

Delivered as Britain’s largest catering butcher celebrates its 50th anniversarye To mark their anniversary, the two Ford e-Transit refrigerated trucks will operate in London’s Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ), delivering meat to customers in the capital’s Fairfax Meadow, including Browns Restaurants (Mitchells & Butlers), Drake & Morgan, Ivy Collection and Gordon Ramsay.

The custom-built vans, designed and managed by ProGreen throughout the manufacturing process, are part of Fairfax Meadow’s sustainability strategy. The state-of-the-art electric vehicles, supplied on long-term leases including full repair and management, feature a Solomon Insulated body and a GAH refrigeration system that can handle both chilled and frozen meat products.

The vehicles feature an all-new cab and bodywork, designed by Fairfax Meadow’s marketing team, that align with the brand.

ProGreen has fitted Geotab telematics to both vehicles, allowing Fairfax Meadow to monitor driver behaviour and report on carbon savings. The systems also allow ProGreen to provide remote fault diagnosis, tracking and accident detention to ensure optimum performance. Full driver training is provided by Prohire’s training academy, ProCademy.

Following a full site inspection at Fairfax Meadow’s depot in London, ProGreen also managed the installation of the electric vehicle charging infrastructure through MER UK.
