While discussing the BJP-JD(S) alliance’s planned padayatra from Bengaluru to Mysuru, Kumaraswamy abruptly paused and noticed blood on his white shirt. Concerned, he asked BJP leader BS Yediyurappa to continue the address. Kumaraswamy was rushed to Apollo Hospital, where ENT doctors examined him and advised rest. The doctors attributed the incident to work stress and lack of rest. Kumaraswamy’s medical history includes three heart valve replacement procedures, and he is currently taking medication. His brother-in-law, Dr. CN Manjunath, suggested that Kumaraswamy’s blood thinners and dry nose, due to frequent air travel, may have contributed to the nosebleed. Following nearly four hours of treatment, Kumaraswamy was discharged and advised to rest.

Heavy Industries and Steel Minister HD Kumaraswamy suddenly rushed to the city’s Jaya Nagar-based Apollo Hospital after bleeding started from his nose while he was addressing a press conference here on Sunday. While he was talking about the BJP-JD(S) alliance’s strategy for a Bengaluru-Mysuru padayatra scheduled for Monday, his nose started bleeding. Seeing the blood drops on his white shirt, he got a little worried and requested BJP leader BS Yediyurappa to go ahead and address the gathering.

Nearly four hours of treatment, ENT doctors examined him and later discharged him. According to the doctors, it happened due to work stress and working without a break and he was advised to take rest. Kumaraswamy has undergone heart valve replacement three times and is on medication. Kumaraswamy’s brother-in-law and Bangalore Rural MP cardiologist Dr CN Manjunath said that Kumaraswamy takes blood thinners twice a day. The nose bleed could have been caused by the medication. Also, his nose dries out due to his excessive air travel and this could have been the cause of the nose bleed, Manjunath added.
