House, a lifelong Dolton resident and current senior trustee, was recently appointed mayor pro tempore amid turmoil surrounding current Mayor Tiffany Henyard. Henyard is accused of misusing government funds and is under federal investigation. “We have to change the narrative around Dolton, and that starts today,” House said. “We’re going to have balanced budgets, and those balanced budgets are going to account for all the mismanagement that we’ve seen over the last few years.” House pledged to save the city $1 million annually by eliminating first-class travel and security detail. The next mayoral election in Dolton is scheduled for April 2025, following the February 2025 primary.

DOLTON, Illinois (WLS) — Jason House has officially announced his candidacy for mayor of the south suburb of Dolton.
House has lived in the village of Dolton all his life and is currently a senior trustee.

He was recently appointed mayor pro tempore, amid the turmoil surrounding current Mayor Tiffany Henyard.
She is accused of misusing government funds and is under federal investigation.
“We have to change the narrative around Dolton, and that starts today. No more security detail. We’re going to save this city $1 million a year with one fatal blow,” House said.
