The 2024 Olympic Games kick off in Paris, with 205 teams competing for 329 gold medals in 40 sports.
Athletics is always the biggest draw at the Olympic Games and will again be the most watched sport this year, with the stars of athletics often being the face of the Games.
The event with the best qualifications is the 100m final and both races look to be fascinating this time around. American world champion Noah Lyles takes on Jamaica’s newest star, Kishane Thompsonwhile in the women’s event it’s USA-Jamaica again, with Lyles’ teammate Sha’Carri Richardson faces competition from Shericka Jackson and the big Shelly-Ann Fraser-Prycestill going strong at 37.
There will be a lot of British interest throughout, with Dina Asher–Blacksmith And Daryll Neita ready to start with the 100m and 200m sprint. Keely Hodgkinson is the favorite to win gold in the 800m and will be joined by the teenage sensation Phoebe Gill in the case. Molly Caudery is a medal chance in pole vaulting while Katarina Johnson–Thompson wants to become Olympic champion in the heptathlon.
On the side of the men, Matthew Hudson–Blacksmith has a good chance of winning gold in the 400m, Josh Kerr will be his rivalry with Jakob Ingebrigtsen on the 1500m, and Phil Sesemann leads a strong contingent of marathon runners.
