After only one season at Villa Park, the 25-year-old has flown to Saudi Arabia for a medical ahead of completing the move. Diaby joined Villa from Bayer Leverkusen last summer for a club-record fee of around £51.9 million. However, manager Unai Emery has opted to sell the French international. This decision coincides with Villa’s recent signing of Jaden Philogene from Hull City for £13.5 million. The return of the England winger is expected to significantly impact the club’s attacking lineup. Diaby has made 54 appearances for Villa, scoring 10 goals and helping the club qualify for the Champions League. As part of their squad revamp for the upcoming season, Villa has also sold Douglas Luiz to Juventus for £42.35 million. In addition to Philogene, Villa has recruited Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea from Juventus, Ian Maatsen from Chelsea for £35 million, Lewis Dobbin from Everton for around £9 million, and most recently, Amadou Onana from Everton for £50 million.

The 25-year-old has travelled to Saudi Arabia to undergo a medical and complete the deal after just one season at Villa Park.

Diaby joined Villa from Bayer Leverkusen last summer for a club record fee of a reported £51.9million, but manager Unai Emery has decided to sell the France international.

This comes after the club re-signed Jaden Philogene from Hull, paying around £13.5million for the England winger this month, with the academy newcomer believed to have a big impact on his return.

Diaby made 54 appearances for Villa, scoring 10 goals and helping the club finish fourth in the Premier League, which led to qualification for the Champions League.

Villa are reshuffling their squad for the new season and sold midfielder Douglas Luiz to Juventus last month for £42.35million.

They signed both Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea from the Italian club, while left-back Ian Maatsen joined from Chelsea for £35m and winger Lewis Dobbin for around £9m from Everton. On Tuesday, Villa also completed the £50m purchase of Everton midfielder Amadou Onana.
