The 250-room hotel was designed by American Mark Foster Gage Architects and will feature glass-bottomed rooms and a rooftop infinity pool. NEOM was the first to announce plans for the cantilevered infinity pool earlier this year.

The resort is located on the Gulf of Aqaba, approximately 10 kilometres north of The Line development.

The unique elevated design is intended to offer guests a unique perspective of the surrounding landscape, lagoon and sea. Mark Foster Gage, founder of the architectural studio, explained: “Treyam is a luxury hotel that floats above the landscape, offering a new perspective on how architecture relates to nature. You have the opportunity to go to a higher vantage point and admire the Gulf of Aqaba from this breathtaking view.”

Equinox Resort Treyam is one of twelve destinations within Magna, the newest region of the NEOM project.

Each room has a partial glass floor, allowing guests to observe the underwater ecosystem, and a partial glass ceiling for stargazing. Gage added: “You are literally floating above an entire underwater ecosystem and looking out at the vastness and beauty of the natural world.”

Exclusive luxury

Equinox Resort Treyam promises an unparalleled hospitality experience, combining a luxurious lifestyle with luxurious surroundings.

Christopher Norton, CEO of Equinox Hotels, commented: “Our resort will serve as a model for transformative luxury, activating the entire destination with experiences that only we can deliver. Our partnership with NEOM underscores a shared commitment to redefining the boundaries of hospitality.”

The resort features spacious guest rooms and suites, a 450-meter lap pool, world-class culinary concepts, a clubhouse, a renowned spa, health and performance treatments in the areas of sustainability and technology, and an on-site Equinox Fitness Club.

Jeremy Lester, Magna’s executive director, said: “NEOM has always been about pioneering the extraordinary, and our partnership with Equinox Hotels underscores that commitment. Equinox Resort Treyam embodies the convergence of innovation and luxury, and this partnership will redefine sustainable hospitality with a focus on truly immersive experiences and active lifestyles.”

The resort’s innovative design makes it a unique hotel in the global hospitality industry and a future must-visit destination.
