During the Games in Paris, 16 men’s teams from six confederations will compete for the Olympic title, while 12 teams will participate in the women’s tournament.

Canada are the reigning women’s champions, but Spain have won the World Cup and are now one of the favourites, while the United States will be looking for redemption after their humiliation in Australia last year.

In the men’s event, the top two from each group advance to the quarter-finals.

In the women’s tournament, the top two teams from each group advance to the quarterfinals. The top two teams in third place play with them in the quarterfinals.
