Dundee Target Charlton Midfielder Scott Fraser on LoanDundee Target Charlton Midfielder Scott Fraser on Loan Dundee is reportedly interested in securing the services of Charlton Athletic midfielder Scott Fraser on a loan deal, according to the Daily Record’s live transfer blog. Fraser, a 29-year-old Scotsman, currently has one year remaining on his Charlton contract, which expires in June 2025. After being granted permission to join Hearts on loan in January to increase his playing time, Fraser spent the second half of the previous season with the Edinburgh club, making 12 appearances in all competitions. Charlton Athletic is anticipated to make a decision on Fraser’s immediate future this summer. However, the player faces slim chances of regular first-team appearances next season due to the arrival of new signings. A move to Dundee would allow Charlton to free up space and funds in the squad, facilitating the signing of further players. While Fraser has made 78 appearances for Charlton, scoring 10 goals, he has struggled to make his mark at the London club. Fraser’s career began at Dundee United, where he progressed through the youth ranks before moving to England in 2018 to join Burton Albion. After a successful spell at MK Dons, he moved to Ipswich Town, but his time there was cut short after just six months of his three-year contract. Whether Charlton will sanction another loan move for Fraser remains to be seen. However, a move to Dundee would provide the player with more playing opportunities and allow him to continue his career in his native Scotland.

Fraser, 29, was given the green light to join Hearts on loan in January to gain more playing time. He spent the second half of last season with the Edinburgh club, making 12 appearances in all competitions before returning to his parent club.

In this latest update on his situation from the Daily Record, Dundee are now keen to lure him back to Scotland on a temporary basis ahead of the start of the new campaign, having already signed five players as they prepare for another year in the Scottish Premiership.

Fraser provides competition and depth in midfield for Charlton Athletic.

However, the chances that he will play regularly in the first team next season are slim.

A move to Dundee would free up space and money in the squad, making room for newcomers.

The Addicks signed him in 2022, but he has struggled to impress at the London club.

He has played 78 games in all competitions, 22 of them last season, and has scored 10 goals.

Fraser began his career at Dundee United and progressed through the ranks as a youngster before moving to England in 2018, initially playing for Burton Albion.

MK Dons then picked him up after he had spent a couple of years at the Brewers and he was a success during his time at Buckinghamshire, scoring 14 goals.

That form earned him a move to Ipswich Town, but his move to Portman Road ultimately didn’t work out and he was allowed to leave for the Tractor Boys after just six months of his three-year contract.

Time will tell whether Charlton Athletic will now let him go again.

A move to Dundee for the former Dundee United player would give him further opportunities.
