The outdoor terrace, adorned with Campari parasols and elegant seating arrangements, provides a serene haven for guests. A pergola forms the centerpiece, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The menu, meticulously crafted by Velvet bar manager Christian Maspes and the Campari team, features summery cocktails that evoke the flavors of Italy. Highlights include the Velvet Garibaldi, a vibrant blend of Campari, grapefruit juice, and passion fruit; the Shaken Campari With No Hands, featuring Campari, passion fruit, and vanilla; and the classic Campari Spritz, combining Campari, prosecco, and soda. To complement the cocktails, a concise aperitif menu offers Sicilian olives, salami Milano, and grissini. Additionally, a selection of champagne, wine, and other beverages is available. Campari has partnered with bartender Salvatore Calabrese and Corinthia London to create an Italian terrace experience called Velvet Alfresco.

The exclusive, hidden terrace, located above the central courtyard of The Garden restaurant on the first floor of the hotel, will open on 19 June. Velvet bar manager Christian Maspes and the Campari team have created an outdoor setting and a summery cocktail menu.

Daniele Quattromini, Director of Food and Beverage at Corinthia London, said of the experience: “It has been a pleasure to work with Campari, Salvatore and the Velvet team to create such a special environment for cocktails this summer. I know the attention to detail and effort that has gone into creating a space with a distinctive Italian influence will be greatly appreciated by all who visit.”

‘Velvet Alfresco with Campari’ is available all summer long through September, with cocktail menu highlights including the Velvet Garibaldi, made with Campari, fresh grapefruit juice and passion fruit, and the Shaken Campari With No Hands, made with Campari, passion fruit and vanilla, as well as the classic Campari Spritz, made with Campari, prosecco and soda.

The cocktail menu is complemented by a short aperitif menu with Sicilian olives, salami Milano and grissini. In addition, a small selection of champagne, wine and other alternatives is available.

The terrace, decorated in an Italian summer design, offers a mix of seating and Campari parasols, dotted around the outdoor space, including benches and high tables, around a central pergola.

Speaking about the terrace, Calabrese said: “Truly unique, ‘Velvet Alfresco with Campari’ will be the most exciting bar to visit in London this summer. I’m even considering cancelling my Amalfi Coast holiday and just sitting there, soaking up the London sunshine and having a Campari cocktail instead.”

‘Velvet Alfresco with Campari is open daily from 4pm to 8pm and is accessible via the hotel lifts to the first floor. Walk-ins are welcome, as are bookings for those who prefer to call ahead to make a reservation.
