Mahopac Marina has a fleet of seven pontoons that you can rent with up to 12 people to spend a day on the water.

“We show you how to anchor the boat, how to move the boat back and forth from the dock, and if you need anything, all you have to do is call,” said Charlie Melchner, owner of Mahopac Marina.

No experience is required to hire, it’s that simple once you’ve been briefed.

At full throttle, you will only travel about 8 km per hour on the pontoon.

Mahopac Marina is open six days a week. Walk-in or make a reservation.

“Everybody is in awe of the beauty of Lake Mahopac,” Melchner said. “Especially if you live within an hour of us, you can come out here and spend the day, they love it!”
