About

Discover watercolour painting in the beautiful Landcraft Garden, taking inspiration from individual plants and the wonderful garden environment. We will review the basic techniques of watercolour, how to use materials and tools and how to mix colours. The day will begin with a still life in the form of a plant and continue with vignette views working in the garden. Some familiarity with watercolour is useful but not essential as all levels of experience are welcome.

SPECIAL NOTES: Morning coffee, light snacks and a packed lunch are provided. All levels of watercolor skills are welcome, but some experience with watercolor mediums and drawing is helpful. Below is a materials list, with recommended paints, paper and brushes. Bring what you need to work comfortably outside in the garden, in sun or shade, and a portable folding stool or chair and a small folding table or outdoor easel. Comfortable shoes and socks, wide-brimmed hats, sunscreen, insect repellent and water are recommended. In order to provide a source of healthy insects for our birds and other insect-eating wildlife, we do not spray the gardens for ticks. Please exercise caution.
