Happy Birthday to Disneyland today. Walt Disney’s original theme park opened on July 17, 1955. That means the 70th anniversary of the Disneyland Resort is just a year away.

To celebrate this year’s anniversary, Disneyland announced today that it is offering Anaheim residents a $69 one-day, park-only ticket. These tickets are valid for visits between August 5 and September 26 of this year, which covers the remainder of Pixar Fest through the start of Halloween at the resort.

For everyone else, the park continues to offer its discounted three-day ticket, which starts at just $79 per day. You can find links to purchase these on our partner’s Disneyland Resort theme park tickets page.

Looking ahead to the 70th, today marks the unofficial kickoff for speculation about that celebration, which will likely be officially revealed at next month’s D23 event in Anaheim. Will we see a new dragon in Fantasmic? A new nighttime spectacle? Some kind of new ticket deal?

It’s too short a development window for Disneyland to offer any major new attractions, except new shows, on this date next year. But with the largest theaters in each park virtually empty, there are spaces available for Disneyland to stage major new musical productions for the 70th.

What would you like to see Disneyland do next year to celebrate its 70th anniversary?
