The man, driving a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck pulling an empty trailer on West Highway 4 just east of Lake Stone, stopped the vehicle partially in the roadway to change a trailer tire around 6:55 a.m., the Florida Highway Patrol said. He was struck by a Dodge Charger, which was then struck by another vehicle. The pedestrian was taken to the McDavid Fire Station by Escambia County EMS and then flown by Aircare helicopter to a hospital in Pensacola. No update on his condition was available.
