The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the qualifying schedule for the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco. The Uganda Cranes will begin their campaign with an away match against South Africa on September 2, followed by a home match against Congo Brazzaville on September 10. On October 7, they will play at home against South Sudan, and on October 15, they will visit South Sudan. Uganda, South Africa, Congo, and South Sudan have been drawn in Group K. Uganda is hoping to participate in the AFCON again after failing to qualify in the 2021 and 2023 editions. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the schedules for the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches, to be held in Morocco.

The announced qualifying schedule, which begins in early September, sees Uganda Cranes kick off their campaign with an away match against South Africa on September 2.

Eight days later, the Cranes welcome Congo Brazzaville to the Mandela National Stadium in Namboole and on October 7 they play at home against South Sudan.

On Tuesday 15 October, Uganda will visit South Sudan and on 11 November they will host South Africa. On 19 November, the team will close the competition with an away match against Congo Brazzaville.

A total of 48 teams or countries were drawn into 12 groups of 4 each, with the top two from the eleven (11) groups not involving tournament host Morocco automatically qualifying for the tournament scheduled to take place from 21 December to 18 January 2026.

Uganda, South Africa, Congo and South Sudan have been drawn in Group K of the 2026 AFCON qualifiers.

Uganda is hoping to participate in the AFCON again after failing to qualify in the 2021 and 2023 editions.
