The winning numbers of the draw were 34, 23, 40, 43, 39, 2, and 26, with additional numbers 7 and 35.
A young Victorian student has realised he is a multi-millionaire as a $4.8 million windfall from the ‘Set for Life’ lottery begins to trickle into his bank account.
The 20-year-old Melbourne resident, who hails from the suburb of Campbellfield, was the only division one winner nationwide in Set for Life draw 3266, which was drawn last night.
He can look forward to a total prize of $4.8 million in the first division, paid in monthly installments of $20,000 per month over the next 20 years.
The winning Victorian said he bought his ticket just minutes before the draw closed and today thanked his lucky stars for it.
“Thank you very much,” he laughed. “I was waiting for your call!
“I have butterflies in my stomach. It’s so unexpected. I bought the ticket at the very last minute and I almost didn’t do it!
“It wasn’t until I went to bed last night around 11pm that I decided to see how my ticket was going. I was expecting division four or five, not division one!
“I’ve already told my parents and a few close friends the news; they were all so happy for me.
“Normally I would mark my own lottery numbers but I decided to convert it to a QuickPick because my numbers weren’t doing much. Thank you very much.”
He says he will deposit $20,000 into his bank account on the 15th of every month for the next 20 years and invest the prize money in his future and pay off his degree.
“I don’t have any concrete plans yet, but I am thinking about investing the prize,” he revealed.
“I’m also studying for my master’s degree and have to pay off my student loans. I might buy a house, go on vacation and also buy a new car, but I have to think about it all.
“We have plans to celebrate tonight with a nice dinner.”
The winning numbers of Set for Life draw 3266 on Saturday 13th July 2024 were 34, 23, 40, 43, 39, 2 and 26, while the additional numbers were 7 and 35.
