Her nickname aptly captures her audacious spirit and passion for the sport, which she inherited from her racing enthusiast father, Jeremy. Mackenzee’s racing journey began in quarter midget cars, where she quickly demonstrated her raw talent, winning her second race. Since transitioning to bandolero cars, she has secured sponsorships for races at Tucson Speedway. Despite being petite in stature, Mackenzee’s fearless spirit shines through. She describes the experience of racing on the banked track as “riding in a saucer.” With Jeremy as her spotter, she recently placed second in a division main event, narrowly missing out on her first summer victory. Undeterred, Mackenzee remains focused on enjoying the thrill of the race and pushing her limits. Her favorite driver is Nascar’s Alex Bowman, who hails from the same Tucson area. Mackenzee’s passion and determination serve as an inspiration for those who dream of pursuing unconventional paths. She exemplifies the notion that with hard work and a burning desire, anything is possible.

TUCSON, Ariz. — “I’m crazy,” Mackenzee Parker said Saturday afternoon at Tucson Speedway.

That revelation is why the 10-year-old Marana resident has been nicknamed “Kaos Knezee.” After all, most girls her age aren’t driving 60 miles per hour.

“It was nerve-wracking at first, but once I got used to it, it was fine,” Mackenzee said.

Her father, Jeremy, is a racing fan and he introduced her to the sport.

“She was hooked ever since,” Jeremy Parker said. “It was gas on.”

Mackenzee is not much taller than four feet. She started in quarter midget cars and won her second race.

“She’s never looked back,” her father said. “The passion she has for it is intense.”

“I don’t know,” Mackenzee shrugged. “I just have it in me.”

She’s switched to bandolero cars and has sponsors on her car for races at Tucson Speedway. And she recently met Nascar driver Alex Bowman, who is also from the Tucson area.

“He’s my favorite driver,” she said.

With her father as spotter, Mackenzee took to the track for her division’s main event.

“It feels like you’re riding in a saucer,” she says of the banked racetrack.

This evening she finished second, just missing out on her first victory of the summer.

“I’m just having fun and going fast.”
