Village Square Pizza: A Review by JTVillage Square Pizza: A Review by JT Introduction JT, a lifelong Upper West Side resident, shares his experience trying out the newly opened Village Square Pizza. Review Sicilian Slice ($4.95/$32) * Classic Sicilian-style crust: thick, airy, and flavorful * Balanced cheese and sauce * Potential for saltiness, so a drink may be recommended Pepperoni Slice ($5.50/$35) * Crispy, flavorful pepperoni * Balanced sauce, but slightly less cheese * Mildly spicy Sausage and Peppers Slice ($5.50/$35) * Less sauce compared to other slices * Sweet flavor profile * Seasoning may not appeal to everyone Overall Impression * Exceptional crust with a satisfying crunch * Classic tomato sauce with a slight kick * Filling slices with a thick crust that quickly satisfies hunger Conclusion JT highly recommends Village Square Pizza, particularly for those who prioritize a flavorful and satisfying crust in their pizza experience. The tomato sauce and pepperoni were also praised, and although the saltiness of the Sicilian slice and the spiciness of the pepperoni slice may not be universally appealing, the overall quality of the pizza earned a positive review from JT.

Hey readers, I go by JT and I’m a lifelong Upper West Sider who loves exploring the eateries in the area. But I also like to keep it short, so enough about me.

Let’s start with food.

After a long-awaited opening, Village Square Pizza welcomed customers last week to Broadway between West 92nd and 93rd Streets.

I ordered three slices to see how they stacked up against the plethora of pizza options in New York City. The staff was very friendly and had me in and out in minutes.

Classic Sicilian: $4.95 for a slice or $32 for a pie

As the name suggests, this is your classic Sicilian: thick, airy crust, tomato sauce, and whole milk mozzarella. There’s a nice balance of cheese and sauce. This is the way to go if you’re a fan of the classics.

It might be wise to have a drink with it, as it is a bit salty.

Pepperoni: $5.50/slice or $35/pie

If you love pepperoni like I do, you know that the small, crispy ones in the photo above are the best! They may be a little smaller, but they pack the perfect punch.

Once again, the sauce shines, but I would have liked a bit more cheese on this one. The pepperoni also had a nice kick to it, but if you don’t have a great relationship with heat, you may want to order another option.

Sausage and peppers: $5.50 for a slice or $35 for a pie

For the sausage and pepper slice, the biggest difference from the other two was the amount of sauce. This slice came with a lot less tomato sauce, but it was still a great bite. The slice was on the sweet side, so if you want a meat option without any seasoning, this might be the one for you.

JT’s dirty conclusion:

For me, the crust is the most important part of a pizza. The thick, airy crust at Village Square tasted delicious and also filled you up faster than a typical New York slice.

The crust also had a great crunch on the bottom for an extra bit of texture. The tomato sauce was simple and classic, with a little extra kick that didn’t overpower the other flavors.

Overall, I was very pleased with my pizza night.
