Local food bus expands hours and service areas

The Fresh Food Shuttle, sponsored by New Kensington Downtown Partnership and Wesley Family Services, has extended its hours and now operates from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for residents of New Kensington, Arnold and Lower Burrell Manor.

Residents can be picked up from their homes and taken to Golden Dawn, Giant Eagle, Animal Protectors Food Bank and Aldi, all in New Kensington, and to Walmart and Aldi, both in Pittsburgh Mills in Frazer.

Riders must be at least 18 years old and may bring up to four bags. Shuttles are non-smoking. For details and a schedule, call 724-895-8270.

August 14: Our Lady Queen of Peace and St. James Parishes are sponsoring a bus trip to Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh. The bus departs at 9 a.m. from the parking lot of St. James Church in Apollo. Today/Wednesday: The Pittsburgh-Tarentum Campmeeting Association, 1451 Main St., will hold a service Sunday at 7 p.m., with the Rev.
