Free Services for Enhanced Functionality The clinic, scheduled for July 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cora Hoffman Center, will provide complimentary services to both powered and non-powered wheelchairs. These services include: * Fixing and repairing chair features * Replacing pads and coverings * Sanitizing surfaces * Power washing (for non-motorized chairs) * In some cases, replacing or upgrading wheelchairs Community-Based Support Individuals are encouraged to RSVP by emailing Ester Girald. Transportation will be available for Staten Island residents. Expanded Services Across New York City Following the Staten Island event, CP Unlimited will offer additional wheelchair cleaning services in Brooklyn and Bronx: * August 10: Brooklyn, Linda Buch Gherardi Center, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (921 East New York Avenue) * August 17: Bronx, West Farms Center, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (1880 Bryant Avenue) Beyond Wheelchair Services CP Unlimited provides a range of services for individuals with disabilities, including: * Advocacy * Educational opportunities * Employment assistance * Independent living support For more information about the wheelchair cleaning events and CP Unlimited’s services, please visit their website. STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – CP Unlimited, a New York-based nonprofit organization that advocates and provides services to individuals with disabilities, will be hosting a free wheelchair cleaning and service session in Staten Island.

The Wheelchair Cleaning Clinic will provide complimentary cleaning, sanitizing, and repair services to help maintain the functionality and mobility of both powered and non-powered wheelchairs.

“The services offered include fixing and repairing chair features, replacing pads and coverings, sanitizing surfaces, power washing (for non-motorized chairs), and, in some cases, replacing or upgrading wheelchairs altogether,” states CP Unlimited.

The event will be hosted on July 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cora Hoffman Center, located at 2324 Forest Avenue. Individuals are encouraged to RSVP by emailing Ester Girald here.

Transportation will be available for Staten Island residents.

Following July 20, CP Unlimited will be hosting more complimentary wheelchair cleaning services across New York, including:

  • August 10: Brooklyn, Linda Buch Gherardi Center, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (921 East New York Avenue)
  • August 17: Bronx, West Farms Center, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. (1880 Bryant Avenue)
