Despite experiencing shoulder discomfort after that outing, he resumed his assignment in Oklahoma City. In Saturday’s game, the 10-time MLB All-Star showcased his dominance, striking out five batters while allowing no runs, one walk, and no hits in three innings. He threw 38 pitches, with 23 strikes. During the 2023 regular season with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Kershaw made 24 starts, compiling a 13-5 record with a 2.46 ERA over 131.2 innings pitched. The left-handed pitcher is a three-time Cy Young Award winner and the 2014 league MVP. Kershaw’s strong performance in Oklahoma City is an encouraging sign for the Dodgers, who hope to have him back in their rotation soon. His return will provide a major boost to a team that is currently battling for a playoff spot.

The 2020 World Series champion was making his fourth appearance ever with OKC. Kershaw also made rehab starts in 2017, 2019 and 2021. This is his 17th season with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

After undergoing shoulder surgery in the offseason and starting the year on a 60-man injury list, Kershaw made his first rehab assignment at Rancho Cucamonga on June 19. He struck out five and allowed one run, one walk and two hits in three innings. Kershaw felt a sore shoulder after the road game, underwent an MRI and resumed his assignment at OKC.

On Saturday, the 10-time MLB All-Star struck out five and allowed no runs, one walk and no hits in three innings. He threw 38 pitches, 23 of which were strikes.
