The Westchester Grassroots Garden Group is gearing up for its 6th annual Garden Walk on Saturday, July 20 from 9am-1pm.

The garden walk comes shortly after the sixth annual plant sale, which set a record and raised $3,300 for the Westchester Food Pantry.

“Grassroots Garden Group would like to thank the community for their continued support of our events, including the plant sale and garden walk, which have raised over $30,000 for the food bank since 2018,” the group said.

This year, the Garden Walk will include six gardens south of Windsor Drive, between Sunnyside Avenue and the Forest Preserve. This is the first garden in history to be redesigned.

“The owners continue to reimagine their space while maintaining popular features that made it a fan favorite just a few years ago,” the group said. “This family-friendly event will kick off on the southeast corner of Sunnyside Avenue and Wakefield Street, where attendees can register, purchase raffle tickets for fantastic prizes, and shop for fun, garden-themed merchandise at our GGG Market.”

Bethanny Alexander, founder and chair of the Grassroots Garden Group, said the event is one of the “highlights of the summer” for the village.

“This year is no exception and we are excited to share some of the beautiful gardens in our midst with the community,” she said.

Tickets and raffle tickets for the Garden Walk can be purchased at grassrootsgardengroup.org. Advance tickets are $15, and tickets purchased the day of the event are $20. All profits from the Garden Walk and raffle sales benefit the Westchester Food Pantry.
