Both trucks burned out in a collision between a truck and a sewage tanker on Saturday afternoon.

The accident happened when one of them drove through a traffic light, killing one of the drivers.

The other driver was slightly injured.

The national ambulance took the injured driver to hospital.

All procedures have been completed and are being referred to the competent authority.

Authorities are urging motorists to remain alert and not to get distracted while driving.

Authorities also reported that motorists could face hefty fines and black points if they use mobile devices while driving on UAE roads.

Fujairah police, on the other hand, said Al Saif roundabout would be temporarily closed on Saturday.

The police said on social platforms: “We would like to inform you that maintenance works will be carried out at Al Saif roundabout and the roundabout will be temporarily closed on Saturday 13/7/2024 from 01:00 to 07:00. Please be careful and use alternative routes.”
