Belthangady, July 13: Vanamahotsava was celebrated on July 12 by the eco-club members of Holy Redeemer English Medium School.

The club members actively participated in the Vanamahotsava with a spirit of tree conservation. Suzanna Serrao presented the program. Ancita Lasrado spoke about the importance of Vanamahotsava.

School principal Father Clifford Simon Pinto, together with club mentors Renita Lasrado and Vidyashree and club leaders Janice D’Souza and Levin D’Souza symbolically planted a sapling during the school assembly.

The principal addressed the students to learn the importance of trees and suggested planting saplings in an area to preserve nature. He also announced the ‘Plant a Sapling’ photo competition for all students in honour of Vanamahotsava.

Members of the eco club planted young trees on the school grounds and pledged to keep the area green and clean.
