OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (WDEF) — A family’s dog died in a house fire overnight in Ooltewah, according to the Hamilton County Office of Emergency Management.
Firefighters responded to the Snow Hill Road house fire after a passerby called 911 at around 3 a.m. Friday.
Upon arrival, Highway 58 volunteer firefighters found the house engulfed in flames. They then called for backup.
Two adults escaped the house fire. However, the family’s dog died in the fire, according to HCOEM. The residents nor the firefighters were injured in the fire.
The HCOEM said the house is now a total loss.
The American Red Cross is assisting the family who lost their home, and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the cause.
