Lions Club Point Cook

Meets at Featherbrook Community Centre on the third Monday of each month at 7:30pm. The club is looking to grow the Lions free vision screening in schools team. Volunteers needed to work with schools in the area to combat undiagnosed vision problems in children. You do not need to be a Lions member, but you must have a Working with Children check.

Werribee Jazz Club

Join us at Werribee Jazz Club on the second Sunday of the month from 2pm to 5pm for three hours of great music, dancing or relaxing listening. Enjoy live bands featuring some of Australia’s best jazz musicians playing traditional, dixieland, swing, R’n’B and mainstream jazz. Drum lessons

Community adult drumming class. If you have ever wanted to try out your rhythm skills, the first lesson is free and there are discounts for other lessons. All hand drums are provided or bring your own drum. No experience is necessary, just bring an open heart and mind and enjoy making great rhythms together. The class is friendly and welcoming to all. Thursdays, 7.30pm to 8.30pm, during school terms, at Saltwarter Community Centre, 153 Saltwater Parade, Point Cook.

Wyndham Women’s Probus

Laverton Community Choir

The choir is currently welcoming new members, particularly male voices. If you enjoy singing and would like to be part of a choir, come along and try out your vocal chords. There are no auditions and you do not need to be able to read sheet music. The group meets on Thursday evenings during term time at Laverton P12 College, 91 Bladin Street, Laverton, from 7pm to 9pm.

The Vegetarian & Cultural Association Incorporated is a non-profit organization that promotes vegetarianism and the principles of a humanitarian lifestyle. They hold cooking classes at the Manor Lakes Community Learning Center on the first Saturday of each month from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon.

A support group that provides a social space for carers to come together in a safe and caring environment. Provides carers with the opportunity to connect, share their experiences and offers emotional and practical support. All Netball skills

All Abilities Netball for 10-25 year olds is hosted by Wyndham Netball Association every Saturday morning during term time, starting at 10.30am, on outdoor court 14 at Eagle Stadium, Ballan Road, Werribee. Intellectual, physical and social disabilities are catered for in a fun and supportive group setting. Come and try your first session for free, with stadium admission $2.

With One Voice Wyndham Choir

With One Voice, Wyndham Choir is a community choir open to all. The community choir welcomes all ages, abilities, faiths, cultures and genders and is led by a highly experienced and friendly professional conductor. They offer fun rehearsals and great performances every week. They sing for an hour and then have a cup of tea. The first two visits are free; after that payment is by tax deductible donation. Adult Community Garden Group

The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month from 10am to 11.30am at the Iramoo Community Centre, 84 Honour Avenue, Wyndham Vale. Join them as they tend to their revamped community garden, planting and harvesting the produce they grow.

The Grange Community Centre invites Wyndham seniors to its weekly Seniors House of Fun. This is a free program held every Friday from 11am to 12:30pm at The Grange Community Centre, 260-280 Hogans Road, Hoppers Crossing.

Seniors Club

The Werribee Senior Citizens Club meets at 80 Lonsdale Circuit, Hoppers Crossing. The group is open to anyone aged 55 and over and is held on Wednesdays from 10am to 12pm. Admission: $2, includes morning tea.

Werribee Diabetes Support offers you the opportunity to hear from experts on how to manage your diabetes, share information about diabetes and connect with other diabetics. Meetings are held on the second Friday of each month at 10am in the old council buildings.

The friendly and lively group meets on the second Wednesday of each month from 10am in Hotel 520. They have a guest speaker each month and also organise social lunches, outings and theatre trips.

The group is a non-profit organization for semi-retired and retired residents of Wyndham. They organize a variety of class activities specifically designed for seniors, including light physical and mental wellness sessions, arts, games and crafts, and general classes such as current affairs, history and lunch groups. Most class activities are held in Wyndham’s community centers.

Group for dementia care providers

IPC Health Dementia Carers Group is held on the first Tuesday of each month, 12.30-2.30pm. The group is for people who care for someone with dementia or a similar condition that causes memory loss. It empowers carers through education, social connection and emotional support, whilst socialising and meeting people in similar situations. Registration is essential.
